The following information is here for your consideration. The individual responsible for this web site and his family have not worked out all the details of the Biblical calendar for themselves and are unable to walk anyone through all the conclusions proposed concerning the possible date of the return of Christ. We do, however, recognize that this information is likely accurate enough to merit attention, and have summarized it below.
The study of the Biblical timeline of history has been diligently undertaken by others. These individuals have had to research certain secular records in order to tie The Biblical calendar to the calendar used by modern man to make the appropriate conversions from one dating system to another. It is therefore possible that this extra-Biblical information isn't totally accurate. It is also possible that God has guided the keepers of all the applicable ancient records to be accurate in their documentation in order for modern man to have accurate information to research. Either way, the year 2011 is not written anywhere in the Bible in plain language, and it is possible that it may be wrong. A few serious Bible students have come to 2011 as a possible year in which to expect the return of Christ, and we recognize that this conclusion has not been made lightly or arbitrarily. The most important thing to remember is that, though Christ may return in 2011, you could die at any time, and that will be the end of any opportunity for mercy if you're not saved. The summary follows.
Have you ever read the multitude of dates and time paths in the Bible and wondered what the point was? The Bible is a calendar. For example, carefully studying Genesis chapter 5 tells us that the Flood of Noah's day occurred six thousand twenty-three years after creation. Why else would the Bible include such specific dates as that in the following passage?
"In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” (Genesis 7:11)
Noah's Flood is used as a picture of the end of the world. Another name for Noah is Noe.
"For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” (Matthew 24:38-39)
"And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:26-27)
The difference between the Flood and the end of the world is that God said that He would not destroy the world again with a flood.
"And I will remember my covenant, which [is] between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.” (Genesis 9:15)
God will destroy the world with fire.
"Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” (2 Peter 3:6-7)
The Bible Tells us in the very next verse the possible year of the end of the world.
"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3:8)
Because one day is as one thousand years, seven days is as seven thousand years. God is telling us that the world would end seven thousand years after the Flood of Noah.
"For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” (Genesis 7:4)
The Flood occurred in the year 4990 B.C. Seven thousand years after 4990 B.C is the year 2011 A.D.
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2 Peter 3:10)
"Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.” (Isaiah 29:6)
"And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?” (Revelation 6:14-17)
What year is it now? Think how many years you may have left. It's going to zoom by! Will you be one of those so afraid of God's anger that you'd rather have a mountain fall on you than face Him?
"And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” (Jude 1:14-15)
Remember that you may not still be alive when Christ returns. You may die before then.
